Everest Elite 700 - Won’t Pair with AppleTV4

These connect with and offer configuration options for my JBL Everest Elite 700 headphones. The headphones came with firmware version 4.0, however, the JBL support site states this app is used to wirelessly update firmware versions 5.0 or higher (the current version is 5.4). The site further explains that the initial firmware update for version 4 requires the headphones be plugged into a computer with a micro-USB cable, and that future updates will be possible wirelessly. There is however no download link provided — no firmware update to download. Firmware version 4.0 isn’t compatible with the new AppleTV4.

JBL tech-support, located in the Philippines, is useless. They told me the product engineers were ‘in a hurry to finish the headphones by a deadline’ and a ‘non-standard’ version of Bluetooth shipped with the ‘1st-batch’ and they’re getting a lot of calls about users with all sorts of devices that won’t pair. He, and a couple others, have promised to research the matter and get back to me — it’s been 2 weeks now, no response :-(
